Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn have gone forwards and backwards on social media on Sunday morning within the wake of Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr being cancelled.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer and the son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman Sr had been resulting from meet on August 6, however it’s now been confirmed that the combat is off resulting from a weight dispute.
Meanwhile in the UK, Eubank Jr and Benn are locked in negotiations for a potential meeting on October 8.
However, this is not signed or agreed yet with both camps having suggesting they also have other options.
Following his fight cancellation, Jake tweeted: “First Tommy [Fury] Fumbled and now Hasim Rahman Crumbled.
“These boxers are the most difficult people to work with and continually lack professionalism and confidence to fight me.”
In a surprise twist, Eubank Jr responded: “Fumbles and Crumbles are not ‘boxers’, they are guys who put gloves on every now and again for clout – no different to you.
“I’m fighting in a couple months but I can squeeze you into my schedule next week and save your show if you have the heart to get into the ring with a REAL boxer.”
At this point Benn entered the conversation.
He tweeted to Eubank Jr: “Why you worrying about fighting Jake? As far as I’m aware you’ve lost your pen again?”
To which Eubank Jr answered: “Nothing about him worries me, trust me.
“And my pen is ready as soon as the contract on my side is correct, which at this moment in time it is not.”
